-STANDARD BIRTH DOULA PACKAGE- The following package is designed for those looking for prenatal, labor, and birth support.
BEFORE ONSET OF LABOR: Two prenatal visits, each one to two hours long. We will meet twice before labor, once if that is all that time allows, to become acquainted, to explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns you may have, to create and/or review your birth plan and postpartum plan, and see how we might best work together. I also want to know your own best ways of coping with discomfort and fatigue and how you and your partner foresee working together. We will remain in touch by telephone and/or email. Prior to 38 weeks, I am available via phone Monday through Friday, 10AM - 5PM, and will respond to all emails and voicemail messages within 24 hours. My lending library, client resource list, and archive of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum articles are available to you. I always work with a back up doula.
WHEN LABOR BEGINS: Beginning at 38 weeks, I enter the on call period and am available via phone 24 hours/day. I prefer that you call me when you think you are in labor even if you do not yet need me. I can answer questions and make suggestions over the phone. We will decide if I should come right then or wait for further change. Please allow one hour plus travel time for me to reach you. We will decide where to meet - at your home or birthing place. I will remain with you throughout labor and birth providing emotional, physical, spiritual and informational support as needed for you and your birth partner(s).
AFTER BIRTH: I will remain with you for one to two hours after birth, until you are comfortable and your family is ready for quiet time together. I will be available by phone and email to answer questions about the birth of your baby. Within the first week postpartum, I will visit with you to see how you and your family are doing, to review the birth, and to offer any additional resources or support you may need.
-ENHANCED BIRTH DOULA PACKAGE- The following package is designed for those looking for prenatal, labor, and birth support as well as additional reassurance and help with finding resources, problem solving, and emotional support during the fourth trimester (the three months after birth). This package includes everything that is a part of the standard birth doula package plus:
POSTPARTUM: Unlimited phone and email support throughout your fourth trimester.

We will meet to explore and discuss your priorities and any fears or concerns you may have, to create and/or review your birth plan and postpartum plan, and to review and practice comfort measures. I am available to help research and gather resources available to you in your local community such as support groups, childbirth education classes, lactation support, placenta encapsulation, childcare, etc. My lending library, client resource list, and archive of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum articles are available to you. I am available via phone Monday through Friday, 10AM - 5PM to answer any questions or concerns that may come up.
